All clients are offered a free quarterly Bone Density scan as well as a Body Composition Analysis that will show progress in bone density, muscle increase and fat loss.
MEASUREMENTS:
We use the GE Lunar Achilles EXPII Bone Densitometer. This screening tool uses high frequency sound waves to evaluate bone status in the heel. The longer the transit time, and slower the speed, the lower density of bone. The bi-directional measurement ensures a consistent reading, and can indicate if a full DXA scan needs to be requested from your physician.
The Achilles Bone Densitometer also provides a clinical measure called Stiffness Index, which indicates the risk of osteoporotic fracture in postmenopausal women comparable to a DXA scan of the hip and spine.
For Body Composition Analysis we use a Tanita Body Composition Analyzer.
